Project Goal

I needed to create a full race track that would take 3-5 minutes to complete three laps using a set of modular track pieces. I was allowed to tune the pre-made car and attach the pieces however I wanted. The track needed to have a very low level art pass as well.

Work Summary

  • Used all modular pieces to create larger groups (turns, straightaways, hills)

  • Tuned the car to work for the track, but still require skill to have a "clean" lap

  • Created all art (excluding the hay bales and car), using primitives

Outcome

I was able to create a track entirely with the module pieces and groups I wanted. The larger inclines don't feel natural to me, though that could be adjusted relatively easily without breaking anything. The car (which is a free Unity asset) is frustratingly difficult to tune in any reasonable way in the time we had for this project, so I felt limited in how I could build a track.
