Tabletop Simulator Steam Download

Project Goal

Create a physical game with a heavy focus on cards for gameplay. This was the November 2019 design challenge from Next Level Design (original challenge post can be found here).

Work Summary

  • Decided on Dungeons & Dragons to be the inspiration for the project

  • Created a combat system that encourages cooperative strategic play between players while remaining unpredictable enough to present a significant challenge

  • Created sets of enemies that provide different challenges, and rewards players for having a varied team

  • Created sets of equipment that give players different abilities and allows for character building

Outcome

I really enjoyed working to create a game in such a short period of time. The game itself feels like a challenge, but also provides enough resources for players to tackle obstacles. There is a fair bit of luck involved, probably more than there should be. I'm working on another iteration of the game that keeps most of the luck elements, but expands on skill and player agency elements.
